Floodlit League Final

Our First Team won the Men’s Floodlit League Class One against Trinity's First Team last night - Monday, 28th Nov.

Because of the format of Floodlit League it’s always a lottery with the draw on the night.
Shane Laporte and Neil Ryan got drawn for the doubles and Fiachra Lennon and Fergus O'Connell got the 2 singles.

Fergus won a very tight match 6/4 6/4.
Alarm bells rang amongst the CLTC supporters when he took a bad fall in the second set and hurt his shoulder. He found it hard to serve and to hit forehands for a few games but he battled through the pain barrier to win.
The doubles of Shane and Neil were never in any trouble and won in straight sets.
Fiachra got the hardest match and lost the first set 6-2 and was 5-2 down in the second set tie-breaker when Fergus finished so it did not matter.
A terrific result on the night and a great achievement to retain the trophy we won last year.

Next year maybe a hatrick?
